The Committee oversees the entire financial services industry, including banking and insurance industries. The committee will concentrate on those issues that can off set American and Azerbaijan-US joint venture business in Azerbaijan. Finance committee will work towards bringing greater understanding of the Azerbaijan Financial system. Better consideration of financial systems and a more robust financial infrastructure will help us to ensure both sustainable economic growth and social progress within the country. AmCham’s financial committee exists to raise and allocate finance. AmCham commonly undertake activities in order to bring organization’s together to provide a range of financial services for its members.
The Committee, which meets quarterly, aims to deal with the relevant banking, finance and insurance issues by organizing best practice discussions amongst the committee members. This year, it is addressing issues such as:

Management of monetary policy in an inflationary environment

Credit Performance Appraisals and realistic reserve requirements for banks

Appreciation of the manat

Encouraging establishment of the necessary legal framework to capture the unofficial flow of money into the legitimate banking system

Improvement of the exchange regime (outgoing and money transfers)

Encouraging more foreign investment in the banking system

Removing restrictions on foreign entries to banking sector on the policy side

Allowing implementation of an interbank Manat market on the operation side
