The Customs Committee discusses a range of customs and transportation issues. The committee provides current information on different aspects of customs clearance procedures. It also closely follows tariff regulations and discusses changes in Azerbaijani customs legislation. The Committee promotes change in the customs system through consistent interpretation and application of existing regulations. We encourage growth and change in harmony with World Customs Organization (WCO) standards in the region. The main aim of the Committee is further dialogue with the customs authorities to reduce miscommunication, make clear the need for action and increase transparency in transactions.
The objective for 2007 is to be involved in the preparation of the new Customs Code and ensure that the Code reflects the experience of AmCham members and their needs in regulation of import-export activity.
